Out of Context Guitar Choir
After conducting Out of Context for fifteen years, JA Dino Deane decided to take his conduction project in a new direction and formed the Out of Context electric Guitar Choir. This performance will be the debut by this lineup which has been incubating since early winter of 2013.
Over a career spanning four decades multi-instrumentalist, sound-designer, conductor Dino J.A. Deane has demonstrated a unique and innovative approach to the world of music. Deane pioneered the use of live-electronics in Indoor Life a popular art/punk band from San Francisco during the early 1980’s. There he played trombone controlled synthesizer that emulated the sound of an electric guitar and employed a tape-echo to create in the moment loops. Soon afterwards he was touring the world as the electro-acoustic live-sampling percussionist with Jon Hassell. That collaboration resulted in the ground breaking Power Spot recording for ECM in 1986, produced by Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois. During that same period Deane became a close collaborator in Butch Morris’s real-time composition creations called Conductions and in 1995 co-produced Morris’s epic 10 CD box set Testament for New World Records. Deane coined the term live-sampling, which means to record members of the ensemble while in performance, manipulate the sound and play back the recorded audio as part of the piece, all in real time. He is considered a master in this field of performance. Deane has an extensive background in composition for modern dance having created over fifty dance/music works with his partner, dancer choreographer Colleen Mulvihill. He has an equally long history creating sound designs for dramatic theater, working with writer directors as diverse as Sam Shepard, Julie Hebert, Christoph Marthaler and John Flax of Theater Grottesco. Dino is sought after by music festivals, instrumental ensembles, spoken word artists, film makers, theater companies and conservatories worldwide for performances, projects and workshops.

Mike Rowland is a founder of High Mayhem Emerging Arts and the drummer of of The Late Severa Wires. Tonight he will hold a seance and bring back to life the occasional project the QT. He will be playing multiple chairs of drummer, guitarist, singer and electronics.
The Starlit Mire
The Starlit Mire is composer and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bleich and
actor/performance artist Rod Harrison. It is music and theater but it is
not musical theater. Storytelling with live soundtrack, The Starlit Mire
is intimate and expansive, electric and acoustic, and seemly very new
while being in fact very old. Themes explored include: loss, working in
restaurants, the afterlife, thrift stores, factory farming, and survival
at sea.
iNK oN pAPER
iNK oN pAPER is a drum, bass, and electronics duo from Milton Villarrubia III (drums and laptop) and Carlos Santistevan (bass and electronics) who share 14 years of working together as a rhythm section in various projects. The Duo takes bass, drums and electronics to a new place. Both members play hybridized versions of their instruments with Milton using Midi triggers on his drums to trigger and process samples using Ableton Live and Carlos using live looping and signal processing on his upright electric bass.
The result is a duo that is drags rhythm through the mud.
Collectively the 2 have shared the stages with many greats including: Dennis Gonzalez, Myra Melford, Dub Trio, Claudia Quintet, Lightning Bolt, HEALTH, The Ahleuchatistas, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Rob Brown, Roscoe Mitchell, Tatsuya Nakatani, Anthony Davis, Gutbucket, Kidd Jordan, J.A.
